    NOE 50cal mould+++++

    Just got the 50bmg moulds in this afternoon and spent the last hour casting some boolits.
    All I can say about NOE quality is WOW.

    Boolit came in a little heavy at 862.4 gr. instead of 850gr. but that doesn't matter compared to the other specs. Wanted .501" on the nose, using WW's, and it came in at .5013". Body diameter was spec'd at .513" and thats just what it came in at. Sprues' cut easily and boolits fell out of the mould with just a little tap on the hinge of the handles. So nice to have a mould that just reeks of quality!

    Now to Moly a few and then LLA them, some without Moly and let them dry, seat GC's in a .513" push thru die, then lube them in the Lyman 450.

    Will also cast some in #2 alloy and do the same.

    Then off to the range to see how they shoot

    Swede, it is a work of art.

    Yeah, I figured SOMEONE would want pics.

    Sure depleted the pot rather rapidly. Once I get two running at the same time, it will go even faster.

    Boolits= as God laid it into the soil,,grand old Galena,the Silver Stream graciously hand poured into molds for our consumption.

    Bullets= Machine made utilizing Full Length Gas Checks as to provide projectiles for the masses.

    2 questions.

    1. I assume the Lyman 450 has enough strength to handle the .513 with this big slug as the as cast diameter is pretty much on this. Am I right on this?

    2. Who is making the .513 die for the Lyman?

    I will be getting one of these molds soon and would like to gather enough info so I can act like I know what I am doing. Anyone have any powders and loads yet to share? Are you using the same powders as jacketed?

    Buckshot can make you a die for the Lyman. I use a push thru .513 that he made for me, then use the .513 die in the lyman 450 that he also made for me, to lube the boolits. You will need to get some longer arms (ram to 450 body) made to accomodate the long boolit(this from Ranger Rick). I just modified my ram, but I have a dedicated 450 that I only use for the big boolits.
