    mold Lube

Hi ,all I am working on casting some bullets using the lee 6 cavity and 2 cavity moulds. Can anyone confirm that it is ok to use Wonder Lube 1000 plus to lube the locating pins and sprue bushings? It says natural I am assuming it is beeswax.

Why not just use a bit of candle wax. Just touch it lightly & quickly to the plces that need it. That's what I do and have no problems.

I use Mobil 1 Synthetic grease on mine. Best find a grease that is stable at high temperatures otherwise it will turn into a gummy mess over time.

This is the second reference I've seen on Mobil 1 in a few days. How long have you been using it??

    Bullplate.

Proven, stable and has a lot of years worth of boolit casters swearing by it.

Buy and use Bull Plate, it's the only lube for a mold. I use Mobil 1 on my base pins for CAS shooting and it is the lube for that as I shoot BP and it keeps my revolvers turning.

Just started using Bullplate myself and the best thing I see from it is that it helps the Lee molds line up properly upon closing without having to use a gloved hand.

    Good stuff!

We have also been using Permatex Never Seez Lubricant for 19 years now and it is the only lubricant that touches our precious moulds. It remains on the moulds for the entire casting run (1,500 cycles) and retains its properties throughout (resists heat up to 1800 degrees F).
