Dixie IXL-DGS Slug Loading Data

Does anyone have or know the load data for the Dixie IXL-DGS slug?

Powder type and amount? I'd appreciate any information.

BPI Buckshot manual has a 773gr load with 30.5gr of Blue Dot, and 28.5gr of HS6 for a 2.75in hull (page 49) @ 1100fps. I have Blue Dot, Longshot, and Steel.

I know it was a 3in magnum weighing a total of 870gr @ 1200fps, but I'd like to try running a 2.75in hull with regular primers. I have tons of primed Fiocchi and Cheddite hulls already, but not a single 3in hull in my inventory.

I had a custom mold made of it producing a 765gr slug.

I can see what gas seals and corks were used from a snapshot on it in the Taofledermaus video.

I thought I might have load data for the IXL-DGS slug but do not! I have the original drawing for the prototype IXL-DGS slug that James sent to me but no load data I can find. I do have load data for Greg Sappington's 880 gr. slug and 1043 gr. slug. The 880 gr. slug data might be suitable and a safe load for sure. Also, you could use the Dixie Tri-Ball data which is for 975 gr. payload so would be a safe place to start, or as you say find a buckshot recipe for same payload and use that.

The heaviest slug I have loaded for is 880 gr. and I used a BD load for birdshot of same payload.

I have only used Blue Dot for heavy slug loads.

Are you shooting smoothbore or rifled gun? The IXL-DGS had an attached basewad for smoothbore.

There are some recipes for 760 gr. and 775 gr. slugs in there. Carl (cpileri) posted several threads for heavy slug loads though some exceed the SAAMI max. pressure so if you find the threads make sure which loads you are using!
