I have been unable to determine what rifle this sight is for. Very distinctive base only marking is “A T”. Anyone know what’s this is for?

How about a Remington Model 8.
It'll be handy if I never need it.

Thanks fellows! Now that I know what to search for easy to identify. The stem at this point is not moving, no apparent rust and have put a few drops of oil in hopes it will free up. This was an unexpected treasure in a box of gun goodies I got at estate auction.
Over on The great model 8 site they’d be happy to get that one!

Not familiar with the site. Likely to offer it for sale in swap n sell here. I’m not likely to ever own a mod 8.

Since those sights have been bringing in excess of $150USD these days, IMHO it would be best to place it F/S where it would receive the widest audience of potential buyers - like that Remington site , E-Bay, or one of the gun auction websites.
