    Thumbs up Tacos!!!!

    Have to be hardshell.
I'm thinking that's what I'll have for lunch.

I live in the taco capital of the entire civilized world...you can get most anything you want - crispy, soft, puffy, etc., and fillings run the gamut - it's almost indefinite.

If it isn't hard shell, it isn't a taco: it's an unfinished burrito!

Just serve up the ingredients on a plate and include a hard taco shell. I will crumble that hard shell on top of everything else and have me a taco salad.

Froo, if you do that, you don't have the added benefit of grease running down to your elbow! Takes the fun out of it!

My grandkids call me "Mr. Taco"..Gee I wonder why?

Each discovers each old thing and they throw up their hands and say ‘See! Look what I have found! Look upon what I know!’ And each believes it is something new.

I'm spoiled. I cook tortillas in olive oil and fold them while they're hot when I make tacos.

Read an article just yesterday that said cooking in olive oil was bad for you. Must be the same people that insist we eat bugs!

I cook bugs in olive oil. I'm bringing home some soft crabs tomorrow, and shrimp for the weekend.

Ok, boys: let's not fight. Anywhere south of the Red River and west of US 281 is the Taco Capital of the World...
(East of 281, them folks are just "different"... they even put RICE in their BEANS!)

In years gone by, we used to live on those gross "Jack in the Box" tacos.
Mrs. Winger calls them 'dog food tacos'.

I found a copy cat recipe for them awhile back.

6" corn tortilla dipped in hot grease for a few seconds so its soft & limp and doesn't split when ya fold it.
The filling is mushy re-fried beans with a hint of taco & grease flavored ground beef.

Add a tiny bit of filling to the taco shell, fold and freeze them.

    To serve:
Deep fry until the shell is crisp except where the filling is.
Then open it, put in a triangle cut 1/2 slice of the cheapest American cheese available and about 12 molecules of lettuce.

I've learned that the older I got, it took more and more beer before I could eat them.

In life: We are given tests, and learn lessons.

OK People. Enough of this idle chit-chat.
This ain't your Grandma's sewing circle.

    Ah! BEER! The ultimate appetizer!

When I was in school, someone had the bright idea that tuna tacos would be an excellent meal item in the school cafeteria...
I don't think any amount of beer would have made THAT palatable! French dressing helped. A little...
