I've been shooting a .50 Encore Prohunter with 100 grains of Blackhorn 209, 275 gr 45-270 SAA at 1900 fps for years and have had great accuracy and success deer hunting with it out to 150 yards.

With the DNR allowing straight wall cartridges, I was wondering if I could duplicate this load in a .460 S&W 20" Katahdin barrel at reasonable recoil levels.

I'm thinking a gas checked 45-270 SAA bullet and either Accurate 5744 or Shooters World Buffalo Rifle.
Quickload tells me that at 35 grains of either 5744 or Buffalo Rifle I would be at 1906 fps @ 27kpsi, 76 % capacity & 89% powder burn.

Sounds like a reasonable load, am I missing anything?
