    What is this?



    I think it might be for cast iron cooking gear but have looked around and can't find anything like it.

    Anyone seen anything like it?

    This is what I thought but I'm not smart enough to figure out how it would work and haven't found anything like it in a few google searches.

    The curve goes the wrong way for a lid lifter. I think it holds some type of hinged lid open.
    A damper or lid support? Maybe for a smoker or a fireplace?
