Watched the ISS pass by tonight, 7:12EST time. Impressive, tho small. It gives me hope that someone of us are up to better things.....
BTW....7*degrees didn't make it all that pleasant ....

7 degrees? I woulda killed for 7 degrees this morn. Not saying it was cold but Eutectic stopped by to run a cold weather lube test......

We watch for it up in Canada (Northern Ontario) during our summer fishing trip.. when you are up there, away from all the ground light clutter and atmospheric interference, it is quite spectacular.. satellites are impressive when they cross the sky, but the ISS will light up til it disappears on the horizon.. quite a sight, to say the least!

Of course, it's much warmer up there in the summertime... LOL

you look at Jupiter too? should be able to see two or three of it's moons.
venus and betulgeuse will visible in a couple of days.

NASA will email you when ISS goes over your area http://spotthestation.nasa.gov/ I have watched it via telescope as it goes over. You can make out the solar panels and modules.

Oh ya, have watched it go over several times. No light pollution here so usually a good view. Sometimes it is average bright and sometimes extremely bright- probably has to do with sun angle on the solar panels. It's about the size of a football field and has quite a large reflective surface. And yes, even with good quality binocs you can make out the generally rectangular profile.
