    Stars Bite!!!!

Lubed almost 2000 bulletsmon Monday. I was getting tired and should have stopped. I did't and now I am missing a .452 plug from mynright trigger finger. Six hour trip to the ER and Surgery to repair the finger. Not Fun.Even with a the bullet feed system, pay attention where your fingers are. Common sense, but Murphy will raise his head.

I thought I was careful. Got distracted and BAM.

Did not post this for ridicule, just a reminder that you cannot be distracted around any machine.

Ouch! That was a painful and expensive reminder. Be careful.

Double ouch! I've caught my finger in there, but never taken a real chunk out of it, just pinched it.

You're right, you can't be too careful around machines, even self propelled ones.

No air assist for me for exactly that reason.

    Safety over speed.

Hope you recover completely, keep us in the loop.

No wonder it bit you so hard! I'm just going to stick with my hand operated Star Sizers. I'm getting too old to give up any digits to a machine..........

Sorry to hear about your accident, something like that can definitely ruin your day(week, month, year). This is one place where the Ballisticast MK VI has a definite advantage over the Star, using that rotating wheel is a lot safer setup for the fingers.

Hope you heal quickly, and don't suffer any permanent ill effects.

Just get a bullet feeder and this can't happen again!! I'm even leary of the Ballisticast because the wheel is still close to the punch. Hope you heal up and get back to it! Rod

Air assist: I was wondering how your right hand was involved. Now it makes sense. -- I am in agreement with some of the other posters...I stick with the manual operation for exactly this reason. It is slower, but the chance if losing a finger is awefully low.

Your experience and advice is a benefit to the rest of us...be careful operating any machinery. I wish you a speedy recovery. Keep us posted!

If I knew how ,I would tell. All I remembered was pushing the pedal and Thunk %%%%%%%
All I can thinkmof was that my finger was inline with the punch whenI pushed the pedal. Like I said before, I took my eyes off the sizer to reach for more bullets.(DON'T DO THAT)
