What cartridge did the Seals use for obl

Okay guys, what cartridge and platforn did the Seals use when they capped obl.

Have seen guesses on another forum of the 6.8 and - or a double tap from a 1911

I have heard on the radio that he was shot twice in the head but details are not forthcoming.

Hard to say; the SEALs have all the cool toys. When I stored some of their gear in Kuwait back in the late '90s, a SEAL platoon carried around enough guns to arm an infantry company! They select the proper tool or tools for the mission at hand, but one thing I never did see them carrying was a 1911. They had Sig P226s and HK MK 23 pistols, but I never saw any 1911s. That doesn't mean that they didn't have any, just that I never saw them.

    Probably a MK23 or a sig. Could be a 223 also.

    .71 caliber.

It takes a real expert to double tap a guy in the face with a Brown Bess musket.

Why not ask another intelligent question, like where was the bullets made or who made them on what work shift on which machine. How about was the seal left handed or right? Who cares! The raggy is dead so let`s move on to getting gas prices lower now.Robert

Doesn't really matter. But then again it is kinda intriguing to wonder. Could have been darn near anything. My guess is going to be a socom type variant of the m-14.

I asked a former spec ops officer today. He didn't know but said that MP5 (9mm) supressed
was very popular 5-6 yrs ago, he thought that they may be using M4 suppressed or 416s
suppressed. 416 is basically a piston AR, and everybody knows what the M4 is - of course
    both in 5.56.

BUT the SEALs can pretty much shoot whatever suits their fancy. I'm sure it will be known
    eventually.

Personally, I am treating ALL info release by the fools in charge as a fairy tale. I will eventually
get the facts from some back channel sources that can be trusted.

I'm guessing 5.56 in the rifles for the support team/out riders/ back up guys who were there to do the heavy lifting if there was big resistance and 9mm in the pistols and sub guns for the assault / hair on the wall team.

Arms, I'm guessing Current version of the black rifle, M4 or whatever you guys call it, sub guns, H&K Mp5s, probably supressed, and all carrying SIG or H&K Pistols.

If I was in charge, they'd all be the same calibre and they'd be 5.56 and 9mm for the handguns. Long way from home, if re-sup was needed you don't need to start adding unnecessary variables into the equation. Keep it simple, and your southern guys say, get er' done.

    Good job anyway.

Seriously. Also assuming it is a handgun is silly. Handguns are last ditch weapons, not something you use on an offensive raid. MP5's dont get used a whole lot now that AR's can run 10"bbls. One of the most common seal weapons is the MK18, a 10" bbl m4 in 5.56, now being trialed in .300BLK.
Also, usually when the press/gov says seal team 6, they actually mean AOV, CAG, Seal team other than 6, CIA, MFR worked together on it.

<chuckle> Have seen much interest and many references to this question. I think the best answer is that "the Seals have all the good toys!"

Most likely candidates are 5.56, 6.8, 9mm ... and just possibly .300 *** (Whisper, BLK, whatever).

Recent theory is that he was shot by two operators simultaneously. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy!!! And it means that two guys will quietly carry considerable pride to the end of their days.

Used a 44 M lever, .432 water dropped WW WFN, max load of 296. Got the idea here from forum pig hunting stories. BvT
Every lawbreaker we allow into our nation, or tolerate in our citizen population leads to the further escalation of law breaking of all kinds and acceptance of evil.
Since almost all aspects of our cultural existence are LIBERAL in most states, this means that the nation is on a trajectory to dissolution by the burden of toleration and acceptance of LAWBREAKING as a norm, a trajectory back to the dark ages of history.
