    My favorite pistol caliber

Well I love my 45 Colt, having 7 different pistols in that caliber. But then I also love my 44 special, having 4 different pistols in that caliber. And I do love that ole 44 magnum, having three different pistols in that caliber. But, then again I am very partial to my 32-20 pistols having 4 pistols in that caliber. Come to think of it, I also very much like my 357 magnum pistols, having 4 of them. Then there is the 327 Federal magnum and the 30 carbine. But I simply can't love them that much as I only have one of each. Then there are the 45 acp pistols, both 1911 and revolvers, 7 different ones. Then there are the two P16 40 caliber Para Ordinance pistols I have had a long love affair with. Not to mention the 357 Sig, the 38 super, 9mm, 10mm, 454 Cas, and 480 Rugers I also enjoy very much.

I would rather not get into the rifles in the above pistol callibers, like the 5 rifles just in 45 Colt. Darned, I think I love them all....

I like 44 pistols loaded in the 900-to1000 FPS range with various 250+ grain boolits...Keith, full wadcutters and RNFP...prefer that I can use them in my 44 Cowboy rifles also.

I shoot 357 in the same flavors...there are a couple of 24 inch Cowboy rifles to side my VAQUEROS and a few dusty SMITH & WESSONS.

45 ACP has a lot going for it. I shot the h*** out of a pair of S&W 645 autos and several S&W 625s back in the late 80 and 90s.

Depends on which one of my Mihec molds gets here first, 44 300gr HP or the Ruger only 45

The only thing the 44 has over the 45 in my book is that the OM Super was only made in 44. OM 45 Shorty with a rechambered Super cylinder and the grip frame, hammer, and trigger is about the ultimate to me.

waco is a man after my own heart. I tend to follow the same wanderings from
.44 Mag, to .45 ACP and then off on a .38 Spl kick for a while.

    It's funny too...
The silliest thing like reading and article in Handloader about "X" caliber will be enough to make me forget about what i have been SOOOO interested in the past month, and go, oh ya!!!
That's the caliber I need to play with now!!
This must be why my shop is full of all different size and shape boolits all over the place! LOL!!!

In revolvers, it's a draw between 357 and 44 mag. In auto, 40 cal, hands down. I can't limit myself to one favorite caliber. I wouldn't have as many guns that way.

45ACP...4 on hand and I am dealing on the 5th.
45 AUTO! Because having to shoot someone twice is just silly!

I'm with Whiteagle on this one. I got away from the .44mag for a while but this last year I picked up a Ruger super blackhawk and can't remember why I ever got away from them. But if it was down to just one it would be the .45 colt. I just wish I could find/afford a Ruger super blackhawk hunter in .45 colt

As much as I love my 629 and GP100, the older I get the more I like my M10 in .38 and my 24s/624s in .44 Special. I get frayed enough in the rest of my life to not want to get Magnumized when I want to enjoy my limited range time.

No slam on folks that like the big boomers or autos, I just shoot to relax and don't like picking up brass.

45acp, had a love affair with her for decades, through several pistols, and marriages...
