    2011 Dan Wesson .357

I was on CZ's website today and just noticed a new addition under Dan Wesson! This is the first time a revolver has been under there in a LONG time!

No price point as of yet, but if they are built to Monson quality they will have NO problem selling them!

I wonder if they will re offer any of their "big" guns in the future ? It appears as though there is enough spare room in the frame to insert a .357 max cylinder sometime in the future !

    Talking

Seeing that picture brings back memories when I worked there in the 70's, when I left I was in charge of bluing all the guns. I use to average just over 250 guns a day.

That frame looks a lot more like my 744 than my 15-2.

    Good morning
Well if they only sell the 357 that is better than nothing But they sure will miss the boat.
Get the Supermags in production ! Start with a 455. Then a couple hundred 414.

Awesome! I bought a 715 4" last year in anticipation of them re-releasing them, and now I can get new barrels, parts, and grips. Sweet!

Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch! They have the spare barrels for sale in their store already, including Blued and Stainless, .357 and .44 Magnum barrels, 2.5"-10" barrels, but the 6" Stainless barrel and shroud combo costs $304! That's almost as much as I paid for the entire gun! The 8" version is $374 and the 10" is a whopping $433! Even the barrel wrench costs $43!

Yes, unfortunately after cz bought dan wesson they decided everything they sold was made of gold. They forgot one of the great things about dan wesson was that it was a great gun at a reasonable price. Now it is a good gun at a high price, but there is a lot more competition in the price bracket they now try to sell dan wesson stuff at. Like you I can't justify spending as much for a new barrel as a whole gun would cost.

According to the 30th edition of the Blue Book of Gun Values, the interchangeable barreled model 715's last MSRP in 1995 was $376, which is about $524.20 in 2009 dollars according to Westegg. It looks like the CZ-USA stuff might be going for TRIPLE that amount, double if we're lucky.

That is a 357 built on what used to be the .44 magnum frame, I think. The medium framed DW 357 that I owned in another lifetime was a real joy to shoot. Pity they haven't re-issued that one in stainless.

I once had a neighbor that had one with the 12 in. barrel! Of course, we all had our opinions about why he would even consider one that long, but, that is a story for another day.
