I always find with SMLE's a 180 grain flat back round nose always works best. 42 grains of IMR4350.

Anybody using VihtaVuori N140 in their old military rifles? What calibers? Tell me more....

Dutchman I've seen you post that gem in the past. Love it. I just scooped up two of them the last year. One of them on a Chatellerault receiver. I have to say, out of all my recent acquisitions, the...

How do you go about requesting that info?

The M91's I have are Finn rebuilt and are .3085 groove. They are D marked same with M28/30 but that only means throat was reamed to chamber D rounds. Kind of like the S stamp on G88's. I loaded some...

Recently I have purchased a few new Finnish Mosins that I was able to get for a right price. 1942 M91 Tika, M27 Tika, and M28/30 Sako. All of these have the .308-.3085 grove diameter so using 308...

you are so correct. I love my brass 316-299 mold from NOE. I find brass and iron/steel is better than aluminum. Even though the majority of my molds are aluminum I find the NOE aluminum ones need a...

I have the same issue with a 1903A3 bolt I had bought in the wrapper. It's a Smith Corona made bolt too. Unmodified trigger and rifle.

I love PPU but lately they don't seem to be annealing cases as good as in past. Try doing that after a reload or two.

.303 in a lot of circles has a mediocre reputation. To me it's a favorite to load jacketed and cast. I have my eye on a couple SMLE's!

About 15 years ago I bought some of that stuff. It was sold as non corrosive, but it wasn't. It did a number on my Remington 1903.

Where did find a published load with 748? I love 748 but never found any data using that powder in 7.5x55.

Water, dishwashing liquid and ammonia is the way to go. Like Larry said Sweet's is a must for the copper foiling.

Personally I would go with a bullet closer to the GP11 load which was 175 grain.

36 grains of IMR 4350 over a 312 NOE head powder coated and gas checked to .314. I use RCBS dies and it shoots real good
Anybody have experience with this mold? I never knew NOE made steel molds! I was happy when I saw that. I want to use in my 1903's.

I have one not sporterized. It's got an issue where it shoots real low and to the right. I think it needs to be shimmed in the stock or something.

36 grains of IMR4350 is my go to load for my SMLE.

I have one and in the past a couple of others that I kick myself for getting rid of. They shoot pretty good and are cheaper to feed than 8 mm K98's as of late. They do shoot good. Just slug that bore...

Sierra has a gas gun listing for 06, 308 and .223.

Funny you wrote this, I just got a new 1889 in great shape. I took it to the range and used the NOE 312 299 mold sized to .314. It seemed that the slower powders like IMR 4350 and 4064 gave me the...

I don't have a chrono but I know that when I shoot it at 100 yards, it shoots the same POI as jacketed. I use range scrap, probably 10 bhn or so and is powder coated and gas checked.
