Casting day.
14.9kg of bullets, 0.8kg of them shortened Lee 311-100-2R.
Rest ca. equal numbers of Mihec 432-256 (244gr) .44 and 358-429 (155gr) .357 Keith swc bullets.
Used 50% range scrap lead...

Busy day reloading:
- 100pcs 6.5x55 for my 1902 m/96 Carl Gustaf
- 1016pcs 45acp. Mostly H&N 200gr TC, but also a couple of hundred of my own cast HG68s.

Hornady Lock´n´load AP press works...

Ordered a shellplate for Hornady L´n´l AP press some time ago. Received older model plate without the extractor groove on bottom.
Could have returned that plate but correct ones aren´t available...

Case base thicknesses:
Fiocchi 7.63Mauser - 4.0mm
CBC 38spl - 4.1mm
S&B 7.62 Tokarev - 4.35mm

Pretty close, I don´t expect problems.

I know. Price of 43,9€/100pcs of Starline brass + shipping is a bit high for me. I can buy S&B cartridges for ca. 0.65€/pcs.
Also Starline Tokarev brass is on backorder at Brownells.Fi. So 4-12weeks...

I ground a profile tool for lathe to cut the extractor groove in 38spl brass.
Going to test converting 38 Special brass to 7.62x25 Tokarev.

Finally got .314 sizing die and .30cal gas checks.
This time I cut the base of the bullet off in a lathe. We´ll see how these work.
If well, I will modify the mould.

I cut eight bullets short and loaded rounds with them. Rounds cycled the gun just fine and bullets punched round holes at 25m
0.41g of N340 felt a bit too much. Will try different loads.

Yes, I have a small lathe with a collet chuck. Used that to cut the bottom lube groove off of the cast Lee 311-100-2R bullet.
Now that I think about it, I could mount that mould in the independent...

Got around to cast some bullets. Temperature +2deg.C but hot casting pot kept me warm enough.

Lee 311-100-2R looks a bit long. Base is deep inside case, bottom lube groove exposed to powder.
