We generally rattle antlers around here. Brings in the big ones when rut is in season.
A mouth call for a turkey hen (the one that goes poot), will also bring them in out of curiosity.

I just got a notification that my 32-20 brass is due to arrive tomorrow afternoon. That’s pretty fast delivery considering I just placed the order on the 22nd.

That’s basically what happened to me. I turned 18 and wanted a pistol but couldn’t buy a cartridge gun, but Dixie was happy to send an 1858 Remington target model through the mail, along with balls...

What I’ve found fascinating is how animals look in a thermal. We have several great horned owls around our place and the thing that lights up are their eyes; the feathers are clearly good...

My great uncles taught me to shoot offhand. Both were skilled target shots in Schuetzen style competitions. They always said no live person can hold perfectly still so you have to intentionally...
My Ruger Old Model Blackhawk in 45 Colt likes .4515 diameter pills, which also work well in my 45 auto. Most modern guns run around .452, while older revolvers might be closer to .453-.454. I’ve...
H&G 68 in 45 ACP. Accurate in most guns and will typically feed with a little bit of throating, sometimes none at all in some barrels.

I bought a Sightmark Wraith Thermal last year for about $2K and like it. I don't have any shots past about 125 yards so I don't need something that a professional hunter might use. It's nice and...

Rel-7 works in a lot of small to midsized cartridges. I use it from 32-20 to 44-40 and 45 Colt. It also works in 45-70 and would probably be fine in 30-30 (although I haven’t tried it yet).

I use Tabasco and Cholula but usually make my own - one clove of garlic, one jalapeno and one medium tomato. Char under the broiler then puree, salt to taste, and serve warm. It will keep for about...

Larger nozzle is faster but typically yields a rougher surface finish. The desired end result usually dictates which size to use.

Slightly OT, but I used to have two Australian Shepherd dogs, a bitch and her daughter, who had an organized routine to kill cats. They would slowly approach from 180 degrees apart and the cat...

Glass would work but I'm not sure how long the barrel is. A long glass container might be hard to find and would also be subject to breakage.

Thank you for the heads up!
I ordered some 32-20 - can never have enough of those thin little cases.

FWIW, I use 5-7 grs of 700X in lead shot loads (41 mag through 45 Colt). Rice will obviously take less powder but any amount of lead shot probably needs a bit more ooomph.

It all depends on the woman's character - which none of us can know; you are the one closest to the situation and the people who are involved.

Spring is over. We hit 97 yesterday; it will be like this until September - unless a tropical storm wanders in from the Gulf.
