This is really off topic, but......I have a Lee lead pot and I need to melt sealing wax to seal some wine bottles. With the Lee pot , will it get too hot to do this job?

I've got a cast iron dutch oven for a smelting vessel. It has a light to moderate coating of rust. From reading here I take it that before smelting WW's I should wire brush out the rust.

I am looking for something quick to cast around 6 lbs of lead for some bore slugs and hopefully a few good bullets for my 32-40. I don't have a lead melting pot proper so I am just trying to get by...

Due to economic circumstances I need a very basic lead melter to dipper cast some bullets. Can I do it on a shoe string with something like a hotplate and a tin can. Help me get started here......
