Gentlemen,
Just curious what rifle you keep behind the kitchen (or living room etc) door to handle misc chores.
This question probably applies more to rural dwellers than urban dwellers. Here...

Mark has been here to my groundhog farm, earlier in the year. Of course, the wheat was tall and we didn't see one damn hog in a whole morning of hunting.
The guy who farms my place finally...
Forum: Factory & Surplus Powder
I too have found the powder in surplus 54R ammo to be CLOSE to 4895. Not exact, but close.
As stated above, if using it in the same cartridge with a lighter projectile, you should be fine.

I owned an XD 9 Tactical for a few years. .356" boolits hit the target sideways. I found true happiness when I started sizing boolits .357". VERY ACCURATE. I won a lotta IDPA matches with it. YMMV

I continue to buy most issues of handloader mag because I can't take my computer to the crapper.
May sound crude, but that's the only place I read gun rags anymore.

Those old S&W wheelguns with some character are a treasure. You'll never regret rescuing it.
That one looks to have a pinned barrel. Those were some well made handguns.
Please let us know how...

ddeaton,
The Grafs in St. Charles is well worth the visit. It is located just off I-70, west of St. Louis, just across the Missouri river.
Heading west on I-70, cross the bridge over the...

Grafs also has a retail store just outside of St. Louis in St. Charles mo. Unless they have closed it in the last year or so. It's on 5th street, not far from the bass pro shop. I used to shop there...

I use 4320 quite a bit in 8X57mm. Mostly with 175-200gr jWord bullets.
Great accuracy, velocity right up there with what the cartridge is capable of.
I really like 4320.

FWIW I use Nobel Sport primers. Same size as 209s, use W209 data and MUCH cheaper than any other type available around here.

The 180gr RN bullets I tried to use for fireforming WOULDN'T REACH THE RIFLING, but I did manage to fix my chamber problem in the Enfield.

Ever had one of those days at the loading bench that, in spite of loving this hobby, was just a PITA?

I too would have to vote for Unique and 4895.
As an added dimension for me, I reload a fair amount of shotshells, Unique is a very useful powder there as well.

+1 on the Wally World pans sticking to alloy. I think they may be tin coated, or some other metal, and form a type of solder. I had to melt alloy out of 3 of the damn things.
