Thank you! This is great inspiration! I hope that I can accomplish something similar.

I'll experiment with moist felt, to see how it works. Probably this is the way to go.

I got a really nice, collectible condition revolver, and I am tempted to make a proper wood case for it. The woodwork is not an issue, but I have no faintest idea of how to mold the felt or velvet...
These chambers look mighty strong. Ruger Readhawk-strong.

I watched a few Youtube vids on 7400, and many owners notice very low recoil for the caliber. It seems that it drains too much into the gas piston, so the velocity is going to be mediocre. This is...

Sounds encouraging. I'll try to get the bar hardness tested to get at least some idea of what I got.

I don't think it is heat treated. Should not be.

As soon as I began to turn it I realized that something was wrong. It spins several foot long chips across the floor instead of producing nice rice-sized flake that I am used to. I run about 1000 rpm...

I am contemplating buying a 7400, just to have a 3006 semi in the herd. Since I handload 100% of my ammo I wonder if I would have to stick with the standard factory load for the 7400 or will it eat...

I usually go at a rusted piece, with a paper towel: first with a dry one, then with an oil-soaked. Repeat it a couple times and see what I got. Quite often, it becomes a shiny blued piece right then....
And again: Ruger following the TSW/99 notch width on their SR series Picatinny/Weaver profile rail narrows the consumer's choice for accessories, whereas Ruger itself does not offer any of them: no...
I do not get it. Doesn't the greed argument appear upside down? If all of these handguns had the standard 1913 rails, would they not be more sought after thanks to a 4x times broader market for...
They are still Picatinny-style. Only the notch width is non-standard.
Streamlight TLR, which is one of more popular weapon lights, comes with 4 rail notch inserts, all of different widths: Glock, Beretta 92, 1913 (Picatinny) and TSW/99.
What are the railed handgun...

UV resistant polyurethane such as sold in headlight restoration kits both blocks UV and seals the wood from oxidation. This is the best solution out there. Will it still darken? It probably will.

Broken metal saw blades make great scrapers either on their own or soldered or brazed to bars of mild steel. I usually braze and quench them after brazing. Thus they can be used for both wood and...

M14 platform is great in every respect except for the optics mounting. Go www.M14.ca's CASM route or trade for AR10 if you are into optics.
I tried CASM and found it superb in every respect....
I had a very similar problem with my Rem 870 Express barrel. Most of the time it would shoot just fine, but every like 5-7 rounds one would stick, to the point of me not being able to rack the slide....

Thanks! It is metal grey PLA. No scan was used: it was an iterative process of the designer working off a picture and dimensions of the original and me correcting them. In the end they said that it...

Thanks to a kind soul, I now have a 3D printed stock on my Winchester 12. It replaces the original wood stock, which is cracked at the wrist like many others.
Since their 3D printer's envelope is...
