Thanks Froggie.

I use hardball with SOWW’s. Basically, 5.25lbs hardball to 7# SOWW’s. Give me 11.3 BHN and shows some expansion in soft berm. I get good fillout in the molds.

When I began this rabbit hole, I dove into learning about alloys, mixes, calculations, etc. I arrived at a mix whereby I could use SOWW’s, which were plentiful at a local shop, and Hardball from...

It dropped at .315. It was designed for .314. I will size after PC to .314. Have not sized, nor PC, nor loaded as of yet. Ranch work this weekend, so hopefully next weekend I’ll load some up.

Will try and keep it low pressure for the old S&W 1905. Mainly a ranch pistol; snakes, varmints, etc.
Finally got my new mold out and casting.
Accurate Molds 31-117A - It’s Tom’s clone of the 311316 Lyman whereas I had him eliminate the lube rings as I will powder coat them. This mold dropped...

For my new model Win Sporter - 38-55.
An easy mold to cast with and makes great boolits. I powdercoat them and it is equally deadly on paper as well as HOGS. I cast about a BHN 11.3.

I only size after powder coating. I let the boolits cool to around 90 degrees, then size them.

I have recently had Accurate make me a 32-20 mold with the standard Lyman 311316 tip and straight walls for powder coating. I’ll shoot it in a S&W 1905 4”. Haven’t used it yet.
