You are correct, shortening the seat/crimp die at the base will work just fine.

It's possible to melt them by excluding zinc, but because zinc melts at 787.2º which means you'd have to keep a very close eye on it, and that is hard to do without a PID.

That's interesting. I wonder if the T-7, and subsequently Redding shell holders, are machined to tighter tolerances than RCBS or Hornady.

Have you been able to see if the shell holders and dies...

Very nicely done. I agree with the others saying seal the bottom to keep wasps at bay. I had some under my bench, and I had to flip it and run.
