If you have any Cerrosafe you can pour a relatively long slug and push it through the bore to check for tight spots and twist rate changes.
There's a big difference between nitrated paper soaked in KNO3 and flash paper, cellulose turned into nitrocellulose by soaking in nitric acid like magicians use. make sure you're talking about the...

That will work. Cast them as soft as you can for best effect. Enjoy the new adventure! There's a learning curve there but once you get it things work great and the 45-70 is the best place to start...

Yep, noticed that in his other threads as well. I guess if nothing else he gets the rest of us here talking about different topics. But there needs to be a special punishment for evil scammers...

The 45 caliber rifle molds are too big. You need something that is just over bore diameter so you can patch it to groove diameter. .452" bullets that end up around .460" after patching.
Forum: Smokeless Paper Patching
Using smokeless, a good way to get started patching for 45-70 is to use some 300 grain bullets made for the 45 colt. They're the right size already to patch and you don't need a custom mold right...

If you have a hydraulic shop near you, see if they will sell you a few inches of honed tubing of whatever size you need for the size of your press. I just made a 2 1/2" one and have been very happy...

If using smokeless, size bullets to .001" over bore diameter and patch to just over groove diameter. If using black powder, patch to bore diameter. Since you're on the smokeless room I assume that's...

You are getting the hang of this stuff. Pretty soon the addiction will be strong and you will be fully immersed!

I just bought exactly what you're looking for. It's a Howa with a synthetic stock, Vortex scope, threaded muzzle, and magazine fed. The funny thing is the package deal was cheaper than the bare...
When loading shotshells with card wads I just go be what is on the box. Maybe 3 drams of powder and an ounce of shot or whatever I want it to do. This is with black powder of course, and to be modern...
I've used .375" pistol balls in a .410 with good results. I'd check your wads and see what fits inside without bulging the case. And make sure it will fit through the choke if you have any.

That is hopefully good news. I want to see them restored to their former glory!

I don't see why you couldn't use it for combustible filler. Of course it will add some energy to the shot but not a tremendous amount and it will certainly take up space. Just remember to clean your...

It sounds like he is just going by the name. Use whatever fits the throats of your revolvers, which is probably .452".
