I make bamboo fly rods from scratch, so I'm constantly using Japanese cut-off saws and block planes. I sharpen my plane irons with water stones. I also keep my chisels sharp and handy as well as my...

I can't say for sure. Before, it was so hard it almost hurt my finger to pull the trigger. Now it's very comfortable for hunting but I wouldn't say particularly light. It was a huge improvement.

This worked for me.

That sounds interesting. I'd like to see some of his work.

I have been away from CastBoolits for a long time and, regrettably, from shooting sports in general. The reason is that I'm now heavily into making custom bamboo fly rods. Never had so much fun in...

If you have access to a band saw or a sawzall, that should get them small enough to fit in your pot.

I volunteer with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, where we introduce recovering veterans to all the aspects of fly fishing; fly tying, rod building, fly casting and of course we take them fishing....

I have two molds, in both solid and HP. Both are GC. I use these in my Bisley Hunter. 18.6 grains of 4227 is my load. I got a deer with a solid 5 years ago, and I'm going to have hollow-points...

Loaded 300 rounds of 44 mag using Accurate 43-240AG, sized .432, 10 grains of Universal, for my Henry lever rifle. Very accurate, fun load.

Very nice craftsmanship. I want to try something similar this year. Well done.
Love these posts about the good ol' days. I grew up in a small desert town in So. Cal. I could leave my house carrying my Remington 580 and a pocket full of 22lr, walk through the streets to the...

Hope all ends up OK for you. I'm also worried about my folks in Beaumont and my friends in Cherry Valley.

Sounds like a lot of work, but a lot of fun too. Very cool.

A fine tribute to a genuine American hero.

I love it when that happens. I'm hoping to find a great load for my Savage 24V in .222/20 guage. It will eventually present itself, I just have to put in the time.

In my experience, when the deer is shot high, it takes a more than a few yards before a blood trail appears. It seems the body cavity has to fill to the height of the wounds before the blood starts...

There's a lot of old brass with that. I think it was a crimp to prevent bullet set-back. I've always used them with no problems.

Wow that looks like a new rifle. The work of a craftsman.
