You get pretty good at ID the zinc. YOu don't need to test the entire bucket, just the ones you aren't sure of. Keep the melt at 700deg & everything not lead floats out.

Depending on what you want the bullets for, IA 4-1 lead/lino for most handguns applications. It cast great, doesnt really need any more tin.

A bunch of early LEA G22 got KB using lead bullets. Many dept back then used remanuf ammo with lead bullet for practice. Dont clean the bbl, fire jacketed after & it got exciting.

Coated bullets are just fine in poly bbls. It is all I run in my Glocks. You can even run lubed lead, just clean the bbl more often. Though I never get great accuracy with lubed lead in poly bbls.

Accurate are CNC machined, why there are no true round nose designs. Also why Tom can make small changes to any mold & give you what you want. He is great to work with & the quality is top notch....

I have several Accurate molds & the final weight will not be exact. COWW is what I order but COWW can be all over on composition, then casting temps change final size a bit.

The 9.3x74 is longer so I dont see how you could get proper sizing with the shorter case?

Water dropping while casting then heating bullets up to 400deg for 15-20m undoes any gain. You are better off air cooling & water dropping out of the PC oven imo.

Bullets are rarely plug & play. Change to a diff one, you should back off & work up. At max, everything matters.

You would have to put a heck of a lot of PC to have the bullet not fit most pistols. I have used it, works fine in a GLock OEM.

I do not think there is any restrictions on selling any components, maybe black powder. Ammo can't be sold to anyone now. Selling your own bullets is technically a Fed violation, but who is to say...

I do my casting between 730-750. I have no issues. Just stir the pot more. No need to flux, I only use clean alloy & just stir with a wooden stick each time & add alloy. All my fluxing is done...

The 454 does take 0.451"-0.452" jacketed. So I would go at least 0.453" for cast. As notes slugging is preferred but its not required.

I have access to 100s of # of pure. I trade it for lino or ingots of clip ww.

I dont bother. I have known pure lead & lino ingots. If i have mystery metal i just bang it against the lead or lino. If it dents it will make a bullet.

So its specific to a given powder, ok. I still think its changing the alloy. The baking time element isnt really an issue, you can be doing other things.

I PC, fully understand the process. I question how baking 30min makes them easier to size, unless they are air cooled & softening the alloy.

Not really. Speer shows 8.2gr getting 1150 with gdhp. I wouldnt go that hot but 1100fps is pretty easy. I have run 8.1gr under the RemGS, 8.2gr under 185xtp for 1100 in a 5”, but i consider that max....

Yeah you need a slower powder than RD Unique is a good choice, easily hit 1100fps. I imagine BE86 works even a bit better. Its basically PP without the blast.You really need a chrono to get there....

Both TC & RN load fine in moon clips. If its just hitting steel, I would go 110 or even 90gr bullets, zero recoil.

I just dont see how baking them longer makes them easier to size unless you are water dropping out of the mold & baking longer softens the alloy.

Not saying it isnt true but unless you use identical alloy & temps, your bullets will vary in size. You would have to measure dozens each time you cast, not a couple each.

I have some setup to test in a Ransom rest this spring. I'll let you know. I have ALox, a stick lube & PC & HT coated. I dont expect much diff at 25y.
