Forum: Leverguns
I bought a 80's stainless Redhawk in 44 mag on a whim at a militaria show. I'm more of a milsurp guy/NRA high power guy but I really like shooting this thing. Is there a lever gun that is throated...

I gave the selector and the sear to a Class III friend of mine. Thanks for looking out.

Yup. I noticed that sight when I was searching for a receiver for my M16A1 parts kit. Looks like a nice sight.
Thanks for the help guys.

I’ve read reports of them opening when firing and generally poor quality. I’m not expecting miracles as they are not expensive but I value my face and don’t want a total ***. I want to try some...

It sounds like a great idea. What size tap should I use? Should I just look for screws from a McMaster-Carr catalog?
Stew do you have a link for that tool your talking about?
Thanks

I bought a M16a1 colt parts kit with a new barrel from copes for 450$ I have to mount the gas block and figure out how to park the barrel but otherwise it should go together like legos. Anyone else...
I shot 5 of those winchester super X slugs from my "new to me" '67 remington 870 fieldmaster riot shotgun. Mind you I pretty much never shoot a shotgun. I decided to shoot them from prone at...
I know nothing about the browning but 600 bucks for a .357 mag redhawk is a decent price. I know becouse I have been shopping for one.
Their scarcity pushes there price close to that of used s&w...

Dutch did you drill and tap that for a scope?
I don't have a Mauser. I was thinking of maybe a Swiss in 6.5 but that may not be enough.
OK if your stuck with the Small riffle primer what one should you use? I know some primers are hotter than others? right?
I'd like to see more on the subject like what boolits don't feed in what guns.
Best thing about .40s&w? Cheap brass. I must have 2000 + cases. I bought a thousand for 40 bucks from pats...
400 rounds? To me that's a lot of shooting in one day. Maybe if I lived in the UP and could shoot at the house. Sounds like great fun.
I've shot a lot of longshot from 4" .40 s&w guns and it's loud but not crazy. louder than Clays my usual practice powder. I wonder how much velocity I'm giving up to the 10mm with 180 gr...
Funny, benchrest shooters are moving toward small primers and large short case designs. You can buy .308 With SR primers thanks to F-class shooters looking to lower there SD into the single digits
I would think the 329pd would be showing the same problems with 240gr loads or is the cylinder latch and pin not steel?

I did not know that the SKS was subject to 922r.

Yeah Jack Stanley I shot 238 so there is lots of room for improvement.
I will get it slugged and determine from there whether to shoot .311 or .308 bullets. See how that goes and then try some...

I've been getting 3-4 moa @ 600 yards prone, military sling with good light and no wind. That with HXP. I'm going to try some 168gr A-maxes in the HXP cases soon. I'm not sure how anyone shoots...

Wow! I've been thinking about building something very similar but its hard to make an AR15 lighter than a Keltec Su16. Very cool.
klcarroll- you must shoot an awful lot. I've been trying to wear...

I have not shot the rifle because I'm not sure what to shoot in it. I guess I will have to take it to a gunsmith. Last time I tried to make a chamber cast it did not come out so well. As far as...

I am looking at a Winchester 70 Stealth II on CDNN website for 590 bucks. I see there is an article from about 4 years ago that states that all .233 WSSM have chrome bores. Does that still hold...

Slightly under 2 inches is not bad unless your trying to shoot this thing real far. Some inexpensive ($1500) 50's can barely hold that with J-words.
I'm impressed.
It would be neat if you...

I was full length sizing some brass I fired in my new AR15. I noticed that it did not take all that much force to get the job done. I took a FL sized case and compared it to an un-sized case and...
