Winchester 231 / Hodgdon HP38 (they are the same) works great for 45 Colt. It's all I use. I use the published data with a .454" cast powder coated SWC.

Never used any Starline 45 Colt. Mine is either R-P, CCI or Winchester. I bought some range brass at a gun show and had to trim it to length because it was too long. Otherwise never retired any cases.

Around 1992 SAAMI revised the chamber drawings for 45 Colt from .454" to .452". If you have a revolver made before the change you need .454". Later ones will be .452".

In that caliber you want a shotgun style stock with a recoil pad. Crescent shaped stocks with steel plates will hurt!

It's not an Army Special either. It is either a Colt New Army or a Colt New Navy revolver. The Army Special came later. You need original cases or accuracy will suffer.

I always think there is no warranty that is worth having. If you need to use it, you are likely to hate it.
