I have a Marlin Cowboy with the 24" tube and 15.0 grs. of 2400 with either a 250 or 255 gr pill is quite accurate.
10.0 grs of Unique over a 240-245...

I've handled one of each the rifle and the carbine, both were smooth and priced at or just under 8 bills.
The cheapest Henry I've seen in 30-30 was $900.

Another 41 fan here, have a 6.5" BH and a Henry.
Killed a doe quite a few years ago with the BH.
I think the deer know when I'm out and about with the Henry as I've never seen one while carrying...

Very well said. My father was a WWII and Korean War vet.

I have never tried Universal in my entire reloading life, but have used a ton of Unique in all kinds of applications. This old Winchester likes this load pretty well....

I did not know that Winchester ever used the mirco-groove rifling I thought that was strictly a Marlin thing.

I'd say yes on the 35 & 444, most likely prior to most Big game hunting seasons.
As to the 45 70 I don't know as I don't shoot it.
But it has regained popularity over the past 30 or so years thanks...

He got a 35 gal. metal drum and filled it with large rocks.
A couple tried it and didn't fair well and it got around....
