I dry patch all my bullets. 45-70 straight sided and dd, 40-65 dd and 50-90 dd for years. We have had great match results. I like that I can sit in my easy chair and patch, no fuss no muss.

I have no first hand experience but ive heard good things about BRC (Borchardt Rifle Co) barrels.

My match load is 83 gr Swiss 1.5 under a paper patch bullet. Slow poured through a 30" drop tube leaves enough room to seat a .060 ldpe wad then compress .080.
Fits easy and shoots well!

I too have used the tubing cutter but it can be a pain, rolls in the mouth quite a bit, easy to slip and cut a little too short. If I had a bunch to do over again I'd look at a cheap harber freight...
