I love my combat magnum SW. it’s running a 280 grain NOE SWC .431 diameter 11.8 HS6. Shoots like magic. Zeroing the sights in the pic at 15 yards.
Ooops. You said 44 Special. I was wondering why...
It happens when your flash holes are considerably off center. Whether the brass is worn out or not. Check those cases and see if that’s the case. I have a few of those segregated to make dummy rounds.
44 Magnum. I enjoyed the challenge of loading this round. SAAMI is all over the map when it comes to chamberings in 44 mag. Those size differences makes a unique puzzle that was fun to crack. Thanks...
Mine runs great. 7.62x39 steel case 123 Wolf HP is sub moa. Every time. Never walks. Zero FTFs. Get the midway mags. Only ones I ever used. I sold one of mine to a guy here and had no complaints from...
Go with as good of a crimp as you can get on it or maybe go to a heavier Boolit. A bullet jammed into the lands, good crimp and hot primer should get you a complete burn.
You don’t NEED the largest meplat. Most WFN or WLN has enough that even if it doesn’t expand will provide a wide would channel and complete pass through with most any 275-300 grain bullet in 45...
In my experience the more space that’s left in the case after you charge it the less it matters. As that space becomes less and less the more the variances in capacity will be magnified.
I’m by no means an expert but do yourself a favor and run a box or three of jacketed ammo through it first.

I use .200 as a default BC with most of my FN boolits in almost every caliber I use...if its a short boolit. If its a long boolit (usually heavy for caliber boolits) I use .250. Out to 300 yards if...

An older gentleman from the range taught me. Also passed on his connects for reloading supplies and lead and such.
Made me promise in return to teach at least one other person. To date I have...
Since you’re not constrained by 1050-1075 threshold it should be easy to find an accurate load with H110 or similar powders.

14.5 -15.5 H110 with SRP 185 grain cast boolit w/ a good crimp does 1700 from a 18.5 inch barrel. Thats probably going 1400 in a 6-10 inch. I shoot this load regularly.

With good content and following you could make 1500-2000 dollars a month. There are some good Youtubers on here. Win94AE is one of my favorites but he’s not very popular by YouTube standards. I...

Larry...following your lead I had the idea of doing the same with LRPs in 44 magnum. But then I remembered I have no way of testing pressure. Would love to see the same with the range of LPPs that...

Great work sir.
I have not purchased a small pistol primer in almost 4 years. SR primers get loaded for all of my revolvers and rifles. Only had one issue with one load in all that time. 6 grains...

Shot it some more and this is day two of running a copper brush with Hoppes #9 and letting it sit overnight then repeat. Finally breaking free. Today, I could finally see the bottom of the groove....

I would say Im about halfway. Nothing has worked yet. I think its a mix of stuff. Now when I use a nylon brush and solvent every hour or so black runs out of the barrel. Its getting there though.

Is that bit small enough to bore out a match Bullet HP a little bigger? Like making a Nosler Custom Comp hp the size of a 165 Sierra Game King HP?

I would just shoot a solid. At rifle velocities almost any HP and most any alloy is going to expand. 15.5-18 grains of H110 you’re going to be running near 2000 FPS. Unless you’re just trying to turn...
Flat noses want to expand. If it’s not overly hard you’re going to get expansion down to 1200-1400 FPS. Test on jugs at 100 yards. It’s actually interesting to do. Shoot on a tarp. Will make finding...

It might not be lead. After two cycles of 50:50 vinegar: peroxide the barrel is noticeably cleaner but there are still streaks of black granular looking stuff that won’t come out. I plugged the...

Why 10%. I have a biology degree and this has me thinking in terms of molarity and strength of the solution.
