800X is my best Lyman 525 wad slug powder. I had heard it was discontinued. Anything heavier, Blue Dot has been my go to powder, up to 945 grain payload.
I haven't ever tried Steel or Longshot.
I've been using the Lee 00 mold, stacked by twos in a wad for 8 pellets. I have a Do-It mold that puts out pellets in the 5/16" range that stacks in threes in a wad.
If I were to buy another...
I don't remember, but looking at the picture it does appear to be a 1/8" 12 gaige wad.

I'm shooting the same Hamer boolits, with the Penta pin hp's. Only I'm using a softer alloy at 1200fps or so. I havent checked them for expansion, as I havent come up with a suitable testing media.

One thing that may be helped by a longer barrel is a drop in pressure at the muzzle. This can make the gun seem quieter, and possibly make muzzle blast disrupt the shot column after it leaves the...

I have a JM ballard rifled Guide gun that is very accurate. I fire lapped the barrel with the LBT paste, so maybe any dovetail issues were removed. I size a 425 grain group buy plainbase to .4605...

Centershot, I have met with, and shot with many casters. Never have met a swager IRL.
Also, the only deer I've killed with a 30-30 was with an RCBS 30-150FN. It worked great. I'm sure there...
I gave up on the Lee slugs after using an MP mold for the Lyman sabot slugs. More accurate and easier to cast a bunch of slugs. I use range berm scrap for all slugs , buckshot and round ball. I...
I have a Tac-14 also, and a comfortable load is 6 cast 00 pellets in a 12S0 clone wad. I use filler wads of styrofoam meat tray material to get the stack height right. I had some old Winchester...

I usually use tiny side cutters from the diy/craft jewelry section of wallyworld. I grind them a bit so they get between the pellets. There looks to be more room on the Marty Molds, as each ball...
Will let you know as soon as I try mine. Won a bb (.180) mold on evilbay lastweek. Looks like I'm going to have to wear asbestos gloves to run the mold hot enough to fill those tiny cavities. ...
