Can I send some dropped from the mold bullets to someone to test them for me? My Saeco meeter tests them at saeco 12 and 13. I think that is way too hard. I just want to check my alloy and Saeco...
Just ordered a 220gr gc mold. I am hoping they will fall around 215 or so with my alloy. Anybody shooting anything like this? Any recipes to start with? I want em hot for hunting.
Shot maker has a new home. sorry guys. I traded it for reloading stuff I needed. More importantly stuff I could figure out unlike the shot maker ha ha!

I am gonna try 2.75lbs of ww and 1lb SH and 2oz tin. I think my WW are pretty hard cause that last batch was REAL hard. Way harder than the math predicted.

I might try that hammer thing on the Superhard. About 2 inches of a tin ingot is just about the weight I needed. I just take a sharp chisel and wack it with a 3lb hammer on the anvil. Cuts it real...

Thanks for the info but I already saw it. There are no hard recipes listed there that I can find. The stuff I made tonight is WAY, WAY harder than anything I see on that page unless I overlooked...

Well I made a batch with my formula and it is VERY hard. Saeco 13-14 witch is about 35 BHN! Think I will add some more lead and try again ha ha! I am thinking I would like about 25 BHN. I dont want a...

I don't have any Linotype. All I bought was Superhard, Antimony shot and tin
Forum: Lead and Lead Alloys
I am thinking 2.25 lbs WW to 1 lb of Superhard then and an pinch of tin should get me close? That would be 2.95 lbs lead and .3 lbs SH add a little tin say .2lbs and I would have 3 pounds of alloy....

I did get some super hard and tin when I ordered that Sb shot. It just looked cheqper to me to use the shot so I got 1 pound of it. Guess I will try a superhard and ww mix for some hard bullets. What...

I thought the the straight (not alloy) antimony beads melted around 1125?
Forum: Lead and Lead Alloys
I was attempting to melt some antimony shot in 2 pounds of lead in my Lee furnace. I put my Lyman thermometer in it and it went all the way around past 1000 to 200. I figured that was hot enough...
Ok I really tried to make some this afternoon and it is not for me. Besides I don't even shoot shotguns nor do I have a loader for them. It is FOR SALE or Trade. It looks like it is throwing about a...
Well it works. It will melt lead and shot came out of the drippers when I shot air into them from the air compressor. So now all I need to do is make me a 30 foot (220v) extention cord to reach...
Nice article. I am scared to use #7 powder after all of the kaboom stories I have seen researching the 10mm and .460 Rowland load data. It looks like that there are 2 different burn rates for #7. ...
I don't know but I hope mine has makes big stuff. We will see if I get it up and running today....Jim
Sorry about that. Thanks for the info. I guess I will try it out today if I have some time to kill...

Just had a guy give me a Littleton shot maker. How does it work? Anybody have a manual they can email me! the one on Magma's website will not load. He said it was the 220 version. How do you tell the...
I am in on this one so long as I can find some checks in 40 cal. I was kind of wanting to thin out some feral pigs with my "block" (Glock) 29 and a 15 round clip.:mrgreen::mrgreen:
