It might be time for me to go back to SWBO seeing your results with 1680. I'd be happy if my H110 or LG loads printed at 3 inches with 200 grain cast bullets.

Sorry, I reread your post and saw bolt action. I don't have the info you're looking for.

Not unique, but with Shooters World Blackout and 500 grain bullets. I'm getting good cycling and accuracy.

I found that when I only shake a few bullets, in your case one, I can't get a good coat. I like to shake around 100 or so bullet size depending and they cover well.
The attached picture is what I...
I'm loading the Lee bullet, haven't gotten great accuracy yet, but I've probably only shot 50 or so. I think I like how LG works with this bullet. What oal are you...

Here they are. I reduced the crimp and will be loading with H110 and LilGun.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200109/ded06d899102b03de39b38a3ca3634b5.jpg

I'll agree the crimp was excessive on the mock-up. I took most of that out after the bullet was crimped, but I wasn't going to make another dummy bullet. My experience casting and loading 450 BM has...

Got my first one mocked up. Everything looks good with the bullet, chambers and extracts fine. Feeds from a mag fine, but there's the problem. The nose takes a beating on the way up. My GCs haven't...

I just received my Lee C358-200 that will take a gas check. I'll be throwing about 8lbs tonight and should have them checked and PC'd for the weekend. They'll be sized to .356 and I'm thinking I'll...

I did try some prior to applying powder coat and it worked, but at that rate you're putting it through the sizer 3 times.

My only experience is with 45 Cal plain base GC from Sages outdoors. I have to size twice to get the check to apply. Size to your finished diameter, pop the check on being careful that it's on the...
Forum: Gas Checks
I am brand new to gas checks and I just found out about plain base gas checks. These might be perfect for my 450BM load, a Lee 457-340 sized down and loaded up to about 1850. I shot a deer with it...

Following. I save all my zinc WW for making ingots. Curious is the melting process is similar to lead. Not going to make bullets with it though.

How do you remove the lube prior to PC?

CW,
I sent an inquiry to NOE about a heavy 10mm mold. I'd love to be able to cast my own heavy HP. Haven't heard back yet.

Are the 200 and 220 bullets your own cast? I've been looking for a heavy 10mm HP mold.

I've used Accurate #9 and Longshot with good results, but now I'm mostly using the Shooters World powders, Major and Heavy Pistol. I'm also trying out Ultimate Pistol for some subsonic loadings.

Rangebrass.us is the cheapest I've ever seen. The problem is it's almost never in stock. I've bought 2k cases from them when they are in stock.
Forum: Cast Boolits
Not the commercial ones. Being hard cast, they shouldn't deform much, if at all. Casting your own with softer lead may get you there.

For my x39AR, I use a Lee universal expander die first before seating the bullet. I imagine it's a similar process for 300BO.

Good luck! Their boat tails didn't shoot well for me, but the plain base 225s were a different story.

Gallant bullets has three weights of heavies sized to .310. I tried their 220 grain boat tails and 225 grain plain base. The 225s shot much better for me. I shot them subsonic in a x39 AR, not a...

I thought about it too. I'm looking into the FFL thing sometime in the future.
