I know the aftermarket barrels are out there but what is a reasonable price for a factory barrel threaded by a smith with the front sight reset?

High point takes proprietary mags and is fairly low cap and clunky.
I would look at ar-45 lowers and uppers if you wanted more hands on there are several conversions out there you can do. Ar10 mag...

Strange my 77 is 1/2x28 in 357, that's the only barrel I've had sent off to be threaded. Everything else I've done myself.

Yeah, od sorry my brains been everywhere this week and I'm just a home gamer.

Turned out to be a 044 1/2 , anybody know if the extractors are the same? I'll probably end up replacing parts

Scored a 44 mag at a garage sale and would like to thread it for a supressor. Looking around 5/8-24 seems to be the go to but some say it's too thin?
Never threaded a 44 mag before so I'm open to...

Got a walnut log and looking at cutting some blocks out specifically for revolver grips and some forearms in the next few years?
Thinking do a bees wax dip for the blocks and let them rest for a...

I should be able to machine the barrels I need, I'll do some more research and see if a breach block is in the budget.
I'll take it to.the range this week and see how the current 22 barrel is.

Came across a good mechanical condition 44 1/2 Stevens , cosmetically it's rough. It does have a original marble rear sight though.
It's currently in 22LR with a half oct/round barrel.
I was...

At what point on a octagonal 38special contender barrel is the thickness .550" looking to get one to thread for trapper use
What i was wondering was did they use the same barrel blank in 38s&w as 38 spl....I used to have a 38s&w and know there is a difference in bullet size etc.
I'll have to just slug it and see
That looks great, a little better condition than mine came in. I have some other Smith parts I may trade around or sell and get a barrel like that on one of them.
Shame one of my barrels in my...
If you have not found a solution let me know I may be able to help
I must have got a different batch than everyone else, mine all had poorly bobbed hammers like someone with a hacksaw did them. I found a stash of wide .500 k frame hammers iirc and am in the process...
Since those don't really need resized can you get away with just a decapper, primer and simple stick wad press?
Forum: Leverguns
100% agree , but 30 rounds or so on tap on a lever gun would be kinda fun it's supressor ready so that's neat too, if someone in a ban state wanted to shoot carbine in competition this is a mag fed...
I have only witnessed two lengths of rods as well at least for the 10's and the cylinders external dimensions appear the same although I will say the jg sales examples have heavily dehorned cylinder...

Looks like it would work well in a area that bans semi autos. Not many 9mm lever actions out there, it's a option for people with limited options. That's been one of the huge draws to lever actions...
Forum: Single Shot Guns
That would be neat, I hope someday to come across some si gle shot actions that need built. That will be one that gets done.
Sorry I didn't give that in a better light, they are the shorter rods and iirc as is they won't clear a 38 spl case fully thus I wish to put longer ones in.
I have multiple frames, one may get...

So at the time of the OP neither my dad or I owned a 32-20. All my found 32-20 brass went to be modified for 7.62x38r. About 2 years ago I found a Smith & Wesson 32-20 for cheap and got it. Jury is...

.311 bore, sorry for the very tardy reply. I forget all the reasons I went with that but he shoots jacketed and cast
I got a few s&w 10 frames from jg sales back when they were cheaper and I'm getting parts together to build them up into woods guns and such. I want to build a medium weight 5" barrel and a target...

For about a year I thought the axis was awesome then I found a compass and I'm a fan

Toss up between a axis and a tc compass, hard use and most versatility without planning to swap barrels I would take the tc compass.
Regardless you will want to swap the scope rail with a egw one...
