Don't know if this has been posted, but pretty cool animated video and might consider it for a sticky.

cool!
Whoever did this should somehow get paid for it, it's great.
Oh, yeah!
Someone had a lot of time and talent. Great find.
I fell in love with the old slab sides over 50 years ago when as a kid of 17 I went into the army. Today, under my pillow rests a 1943 vintage Remington Rand 1911A1, if the need should ever arise, (pray never) I know it won't fail me.
I agree with the sticky idea, that is just too cool, and VERY useful!
That was neat. It makes it all look so easy. Animation was good, too bad it didn't show the disconnector pushing the trigger bar down. Other than that looked flawless:drinks:
P.S. not bitchin just an observation.
Now I gotta find out how to copy it to my HD or a CD.
Hint?
That's awesome! Especially with the John Lee Hooker soundtrack!

This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by WMG.
looks like someone did feel a bit of pride in their workmanship.
It's back up now, but without the sound.
I just watched it and found it very interesting. A lot more involved than I thought. Thank you.
That was really cool.
Wow! Very good, and the Keep Vid worked well also
Thanks to both for the links
Nice! Thanks for the link!
OMG! That's incredible. Thank you for sharing this.
Very Nice! New to the 1911 community could'nt resist buying the new Remington 1911 R1. Can't believe how the price continues to increase. Looking forward to see how it does once the spring comes around!
There is a mistake in the assembly, you can't put the thumb safety in with the hammer forward, it has to be back in the cocked position. :D
Hello NSP64,
I may be mistaken, but I do not think that the disconnector "pushes the trigger bar down". The disconnector is pushed down and "unhooks from the sear" it only "slides down the rear surface of the trigger bar". I think that it is shown correctly.
That's pretty cool. Every 1911 owner should see this if they plan to take their pistol apart and put it back together. BC
I was shooting my Springfield M1911-A1 and this happened.Attachment 59327
Attachment 59328
NICE!!
It my not be a sticky, but it is bookmarked on my computer!!

Just watched it, very cool, does have sound, thought it may be different audio now
Great link and had even better information! Glad someone took the time to put this together, thanks.
Very Kewl,, someone put some time in on that one,,, I need to save that if i ever forget how to brake-down and clean my Colt,, hahah very Kewl tho

uh, how can the trigger bar be pushed down? :-) when the disconnector is pushed down, it disengages the sear. When the disconnector is "up" in its notch in the slide, the sear can be moved by pulling the trigger. The grip safety's tang contacst the back of the trigger bar, so that the trigger can't move unless the grip safety is disgaged or disabled (ie, the tang is cut off)
Overall, given the occasional oversight it's pretty good. They also left out the kink right in the middle of the plunger spring, that is the only thing that keeps the plungers in the tube when you remove the thumb safety..
Wow, that was very nicely done. I am not a 1911 guy but I could use something similar on a lot of the old rifles and pistols I have acquired! 3D computer animation has come a long way.
I enjoyed that thanks.
What a great video. Very well done
Thanks for posting the link OP...
