Time period mistake? Or dude casting in bare feet?
I mean there's the whole no protective gear of any sort whatsoever and hot lead on the floor by bare feet, but they were all real men back then, even the women.
wrong caliber mold for the rifle above the mantle. :)
No PPE. I mean there are some shoes just a foot away from the dude.
Ah guys, Picture depicts colonial times they didn’t exactly have protective gear and respirators! I’ll be a little bit more disturbed if I saw someone casting for his musket, in colonial times, Wearing a face shield, a respirator, and a full zoot/ hazmat suit!!! Maybe that’s just me though
I wonder how she is holding the mold closed as she pores in the lead?
the wide screen TV just out of the picture? :-P
what about the musket upside down above the fire? Doesn't all the powder drop out of the pan in that position?
Also you wouldn't want it that close to open fire.
just my 2¢
Not holding the mold closed.....
And where is the lead pot?
Attachment 242892. It’s his stupid bare feet. Look at one unfocused moment did to my hand! Imagine this on your feet
I'd think the happy looking dog in the pic should look a little peeved about using his bowl for boolits..

On a flint lock rifle the pan holding the priming powder is covered by the frizzen. This would prevent the powder from falling from the pan. Most rifles were hung upside down for the simple reason, it is easier.
There's no way to control wooden splinters without a rug over them.
Ya didn't go barefoot on those rough hewn plank floors.
I’ve had this book for years and only noticed it this AM. As to the rifle frozen down, not only is that the natural balance point but it keeps oil and grease out of the stock
Frizzen not frozen. Stupid spell check
Way to much junk in front of the rifle. The ladle was the pot. While actual pic's would be at a later date in these photo's over the door was common for storage.
The first thing that jumped off the page was him playing footsie with the sprues. No doubt they'd be hot enough to notice with bare feet.
Not holding the mould closed.
