I have cases , Lee dies and and some 8mm bullets both commercial cast and some I cast. I slugged the bore it’s .323 . The dies appear to open the case mouths to .329.
My question should I buy a mold that that cast .329 and shoot them in this gun or should I get a set of custom dies ?
Rifle is in nice shape. I’m thinking it will be a good shooter ?
Any thoughts ?
You may have the wrong dies. The 8x56 dies may be for the m95 bolt gun which usually uses the a .329+ bullet. If you have a rolling block, it is probably a 8x58r Danish, which is a totally different round.

I have heard it stated that One may form the 8x58R from 45-70 brass.
If in doubt, do a chamber cast.
I fireform 8x56r into 8x58r. Sure the result is 2mm shorter, but you never have to trim. From that point on, I only neck size.
I neck sized a few last night . I’m going out after lunch today and try them. The cases I have say 8x56RS . I’ll report how they shoot.
Did you mean 8x58R "Swedish " rolling block? As others said brass can be made from 8x 56r by fireforming. Buffalo arms does sell the correct reformed brass from 45/70. I used to neck size only but finally found new made 8x58R dies from CH tool and die.
I believe the rifle is a Swedish Rolling block. I had it out this afternoon and shot it a few times.
No real testing just yet. I’m going to neck size the cases I have and shoot it some more.
With my rifle, I seat the bullet way out to the point that the neck barely covers the gas check. My brass is 8x56.
I took an expander plug out of another set of dies that measured the correct .323 . I Neck sized and loaded some with Lee 324-175 8mm bullets. They look like they will work fine.
Monday I’ll see if they shoot a group.
